Message from GNT Leader – August 2025 Edition
Dear GNT Family,
How are you? This year, we held GIC, GNT’s main event, in Shiga Prefecture. We sincerely thank everyone who attended and everyone who supported us.
This year, we took on the challenge of hosting visits from KUMON employees and external organizations for interviews and observation.
Each visitor viewed GIC’s activities very favorably, and it was an opportunity for me personally to gain significant confidence. One thing all visitors mentioned in particular was the excellence of the camp leaders. Many were deeply impressed by the young camp leaders giving their all to support the children’s challenges, and hearing their feedback moved me as well.
While I spent much of my time explaining GIC’s value to visitors, repeating these explanations made me realize something: the value of having run the camp for over 20 years. We received many compliments from the numerous visitors and parents who saw the 2025 camp. But upon reflection, our current program is built by refining and improving past programs.
By the time we reached 2025, over 50 camps had been held, each shaped by the hard work of the children, camp leaders, and staff involved at that time. One visitor mentioned she had observed the camp during its early years. Seeing it again after about 20 years, she shared that it had clearly evolved.
I believe the camp’s evolution is thanks to everyone who has taken an interest in and participated in GNT’s activities over the years. Because of you all, we were able to offer camp to many children again this year. Through this camp, I strongly felt that a camp continued for over 20 years holds an overwhelming value unmatched by others. We, the current staff, will continue to give our all to provide an even better camp experience for participants going forward. We look forward to your continued support.

お元気ですか。今年もGNTのメインイベントであるGICを滋賀県にて開催いたしました。ご来場いただいた皆様、ご協力下さった皆様、誠にありがとうございました。
今年は、KUMONの社員や外部団体の取材見学を受け入れる挑戦を行いました。
それぞれの見学者はGICの活動をとても好意的にみてくださり、私自身も大きな自信を得る機会になりました。
特に全ての見学者が仰っていたことがあります。それは、キャンプリーダーの素晴らしさです。参加している子どもたちの挑戦を応援するために全力でサポートする若いキャンプリーダーの様子に感動する方が多く、彼らの感想を聴いて私も感動するほどでした。
私自身は、見学者にGICの価値を説明する時間が多かったのですが、説明を繰り返す中で感じたことがあります。それは、キャンプを20年以上続けてきた価値です。
有難いことに2025年のキャンプの様子を見た多くの見学者、保護者から私たちは多くの賛辞を頂きました。でもよく考えると、今のプログラムは、過去のプログラムの改善点を修正して成り立っているものです。
2025年を迎えるまでに50回以上のキャンプが行われ、その度に当時の子どもたち、キャンプリーダー、スタッフが一生懸命キャンプを作ってきた歴史があります。
ある見学者は、キャンプの初期に見学をしたことがあったそうですが、約20年ぶりに見たキャンプは確実に進化していたと感想を教えてくれました。
こうしてキャンプが進化してこれたのは、これまでにGNTの活動に興味を持ち関わって下さった皆様のお陰だと思います。皆様のお陰で、今年も多くの子どもたちにキャンプを提供することが出来ました。20年以上続けてきたキャンプには、他にはない圧倒的な価値があると私は今回のキャンプを通じて強く感じました。
今後もより良いキャンプを参加者に提供していけるように、現スタッフである私たちは全力を尽くしてまいります。今後もよろしくお願いいたします。
