This summer, we will hold the Onsite Global Immersion Camps (GIC) for 3rd to 6th grade Japanese elementary school students. We are looking for university, college students (undergraduate and/or graduate: both Japanese & International) who are enthusiastic, energetic, committed, and enjoy spending time with children, to be responsible for carrying out the duties of a Camp Leader (28 positions) & Photographer (2 position).
The Aims of Global Immersion Camps (GIC)
- To develop a broadened world view by sharing a communal lifestyle with people from different backgrounds and, thereby, come to realize the importance of mutual understanding.
- To explore one’s potential and, thereby, to gain skills and knowledge to understand society.
- To think proactively and strive to contribute to society.
Through the GIC, we hope to nurture individuals who can contribute to the global community.
Requirements
- An APU Student (Japanese or International)
- Age 17 ~
- Enjoy working with children
- Able to communicate in English fluently
- Responsible and committed
- Open to new experiences and willing to learn
- Cooperative & team-first attitude
- Respect cultural differences and able to work in a multicultural environment
- In good state of mind & health
- Willing to comply with the rules and regulations set by the Kumon Global Network Team
- Valid passport, visa and health insurance (For foreign students)

Step 1 : Apply to attend explanatory session (link below)
Application Period: Now ~ April 17 (Wed), 2024.
*You must attend the explanatory session in order to apply for the interview.
Step 2 : Attend Explanatory Session (Mandatory)
Date: April 17 or 18, 2024
Place: Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU)
Room: April 17: F104 or April 18: FⅡ222 (APU Campus Map*)
Time: You can choose to attend one of the below sessions.
- Option 1: April 17, (Wed) 10:30-12:00 *Reception will start at 10:00 AM
- Option 2: April 18, (Thu) 10:30-12:00 *Reception will start at 10:00 AM
For photographers and experienced EIH & GIC online will be requested to stay 10 minutes longer.
We acknowledge that you might need to verify your class schedule post-course registration.
If you’ve applied for one option but can’t join it, feel free to join the alternative.
However, if you can’t attend either, please inform us.
*Only after attending the Explanatory Session, you may be eligible to apply for the interview.
If it is difficult for you to attend either of these slots, please contact us.
**You will lose your chance to be a Camp Leader or Photographer for failure to attend or coming late to the explanatory session under any circumstances.
Step 3 : (1st screening) Submit Application Form for Interview
*Application for interview will be explained at the Explanatory Session. Your application will be screened and you will receive the results to proceed to the next step (Step 4) by email on May 2, 2024 (Thu).
Step 4 : (2nd screening) Group Interview (about 45mins)

Assigned date, place & time of interview will be sent through email by May 2, 2024 (Thu).
**Interview screening results will be announced by May 22, 2024 (Wed).
Step 5 : (Final screening) Participate in Teamwork Activity (Mandatory to attend both days)
English Immersion Day (EID) in Beppu
Date : June 8-9, 2024 (Sat-Sun) *Only applicable if you’ve passed 2nd screening.
Place : Beppu
**Final screening results will be announced by June 12, 2024 (Wed).
Transportation fee and Token of Appreciation will be given to you for this activity, if you are selected as a Group Leader.
Reward and Appreciation
Upon completion of the camp, Camp Leaders & Photographer will be provided with:
- A certificate of participation
- Token of appreciation (Please note that this is not a part-time job)
- 95,000 yen for Camp Leaders
- 85,000 yen for Photographers
- Meals and all transportation fees to and from training will be covered by the Kumon-Global Network Team (GNT) office after you are selected as a Camp Leader & Photographer (Expenses to explanatory session will be borne by the applicants)
- Valuable experience in dealing with children, working in a diverse and multicultural team.
- Becoming a member of the Kumon Global Immersion Camp (GIC)’s big family network.
