★Online Session Summary★Selamat Siang teman-teman!

Selamat Siang teman-teman!
On Sunday June 21st, we welcome eight friends to our Online Session to get to know more about Indonesia! Our friends all came from different EIC years, from 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019! 😀

We had an ice-breaking game where we guessed what are some famous or common food, sports or animals in Indonesia! Easy right? Can you name some famous Indonesian food? We are sure you could recall from EIC’s past Traveling Around the World or from your Indonesian Camp Leaders’ sharing! Our friends also discovered many new things about Indonesia.
Q: Do you know about a martial art named Pencak Silat?
Q: Do you know about “orangutan”, a famous animal native to Indonesian jungle?
Q: More interestingly, “orang” means “human” and “utan” means “forest”. What do you think “orangutan” means? 😛

Throughout the session, our Indonesia Camp Leaders also took time to guide us around their hometowns. We had a virtual tour to Jakarta, then to Tangerang Selatan, to Surabaya and finally to Medan. In each location, our Indonesian Camp leaders introduced to us a special thing about their hometown such as the different names of Jakarta, the common types of transportation in Indonesia called angkot (mini-bus) and ojek (motorbike taxi, the many similarities between Surabaya and Osaka, as well as Lake Toba in Medan that is much bigger than Lake Biwa! 😮

In every TAW session, we learned about so many new things and interacted a lot with friends from different EIC years! We look forward to seeing you next month traveling with us to India! 😉
